Summary: Wenect uses only essential and functional cookies on its web platform. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The Wenect mobile app uses limited local storage for authentication and preferences only.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners about how users interact with their site.

Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and device identifiers used in mobile applications. This policy covers all such tracking technologies used by Wenect.

2. How Wenect Uses Cookies

On the Wenect web platform (wenect.app), we use cookies to:

  • Maintain your authenticated session
  • Remember your language and display preferences
  • Understand how users navigate the site (aggregated analytics)
  • Ensure the security of your session

In the Wenect mobile app (iOS and Android), we use on-device storage (AsyncStorage) to:

  • Store your authentication token and session data locally
  • Cache your card data for offline access
  • Remember your app preferences (theme, language, notification settings)

We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data to third parties.

5. Mobile App Tracking

The Wenect mobile app does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses the following on-device storage mechanisms:

  • AsyncStorage: Used to store authentication tokens, cached card data, app preferences, and offline data. This data stays on your device and is not shared with third parties.
  • Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, a device-specific token is stored on our servers to deliver notifications. You can revoke this at any time by disabling notifications in your device settings.
  • Device Identifiers: We may collect your device's operating system type and version for debugging purposes. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) for tracking.

On iOS, we comply with Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

6. How to Manage Cookies

Web Browser

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are stored and delete specific ones
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block all cookies (note: this will prevent you from logging into Wenect)
  • Set preferences for specific websites

To clear locally stored data in the Wenect app, you can:

  • Sign out of the app (clears session data)
  • Delete the app from your device (clears all local storage)
  • Disable push notifications in your device Settings

Note: Blocking essential cookies or clearing local storage will sign you out of Wenect and may affect the performance of the Service.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our use of cookies. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email.
